PONTYPRIDD TOWN CENTRE

The scheme provides a cycle intersection for Pontypridd, creating functional and safe links to the existing cycle facilities of the National Cycle Network.

The north to south link removes the need to travel through the busy A470 interchange by providing a new route through Ynysangharad Park and using an existing footbridge to cross the A470. The east to west route runs through the park, the town centre and links into the National Cycle Network Route 4, Porth Spur and High Level cycle routes.

The scheme has improved access to the employment, shopping and leisure facilities in Pontypridd town centre from the surrounding residential areas and provides direct access to the town centre from the University of Glamorgan.
